In Conversation with Grant Gibson

Conversations have a way of revealing connections that aren't always visible while making the work.

It was a pleasure to join design writer and Material Matters host Grant Gibson to discuss the ideas that continue to shape my practice. Together we explored the relationship between architecture, sculpture and design, the stories embedded within materials, and why I believe the objects we surround ourselves with quietly communicate who we are.

The conversation also touched on themes that run throughout my work—from the value we place on materials such as wood, to identity, cultural memory and the role of making as a way of asking questions rather than providing answers.
