PLATFORM: Simone Brewster

PLATFORM: Simone Brewster is Brewster's first museum exhibition, bringing together sculpture, furniture, painting, jewellery and installation in a landmark survey of her multidisciplinary practice.

Presented by the Design Museum, the exhibition explores the ideas that have shaped Brewster's work over two decades: identity, material, memory and the hidden narratives embedded within the objects and spaces that surround us. Organised across four thematic sections—Passages, Everyday Ornaments, Scales of Emotion and Body Narratives—the exhibition traces connections between projects that span architecture, sculpture, design and painting, revealing the continuity of Brewster's thinking across disciplines.

Alongside significant existing works, the exhibition premiered new commissions, including Negrita, created especially for the Design Museum, while presenting prototypes, sketches and process materials that offered visitors insight into Brewster's creative practice.

Rather than presenting objects in isolation, PLATFORM reveals the relationships between material, form and storytelling that underpin her work.

Marking an important milestone in Brewster's career, PLATFORM presents her practice not as a series of separate disciplines, but as a single evolving investigation into how objects can carry identity, memory and cultural meaning.
