The Shape of Things

The Shape of Things brought together sculpture, furniture, jewellery and painting in an exhibition exploring the emotional and cultural relationships we form with the objects that surround us.

At the heart of the exhibition was Brewster's concept of intimate architectures—the idea that objects and spaces do more than serve practical functions; they shape memory, identity and emotion. Through material, colour and form, the exhibition invited visitors to consider how the things we live with quietly influence the way we understand ourselves and the world around us.

Designed as a fully immersive environment, the exhibition blurred the boundaries between object and architecture. Furniture, sculpture, painting and display became part of a single visual language, encouraging visitors to move through the space as participants rather than observers. Rather than presenting objects in isolation, The Shape of Things revealed the relationships that exist between bodies, materials and the environments we inhabit.

Presented at NOW Gallery, the exhibition marked an important moment in the development of Brewster's multidisciplinary practice, bringing together recurring investigations into identity, representation and cultural memory within a single architectural experience.
